With over 35 years in the building and maintenance trade, I bring real, hands-on experience to every job — the kind you earn through hard graft, not just training. From plastering and roofing to joinery and damp-proofing, I’ve seen it all and fixed most of it.
A Solid Foundation in Craftsmanship
I left school at 16 and went straight into the trades. My first step was enrolling at Brunel Technical College in Bristol to study Plastering & Rendering. There, I specialised in both Solid and Fibrous (Ornate) Plastering, mastering everything from traditional lime-based materials to modern systems.
I went on to earn my Level 3 Diploma in Plastering, awarded by City & Guilds, one of the UK’s most respected names in vocational education.
My qualifications include:
Level 1: Principles of Building Construction, Information & Communication
Level 2: Health, Safety & Welfare in Construction
Level 2: Principles of Building Construction
Level 3: Organising, Planning & Pricing Construction Work
These qualifications form the backbone of the practical, no-nonsense workmanship I offer today.
Work Experience Abroad & At Home
After college, I spent several years working in Germany. There, I refined my craft and picked up new techniques under different construction standards. On returning to the UK, I focused on damp-proofing and timber decay restoration for over a decade. This gave me in-depth knowledge of how buildings breathe — and how to keep them structurally sound from the inside out.
35+ Years in Building & Maintenance
Over the years, I’ve handled everything from small fixes to full refurbishments across the South West. Whether it’s a fresh render, a leaky roof, or timber repair, I take on each job with care and pride.
